An unusual, domestic duck, the Indian Runner is sometimes referred to as the “Penguin Duck” due to their upright stance. As a very good egg layer, this breed makes for an interesting addition to a flock!
Indian Runners make for great foragers and will spend most of their days looking for worms, slugs, and even catching flies! They are easily herded and tend to run as opposed to waddling or flying. They are productive egg layers, but very rarely nest, and their eggs can be greenish white, although they can vary.
