Accurately named, Black Jersey Giants get to be very large! Combined with their ability to lay large brown eggs, these chickens are great for meat and eggs!

The Black Jersey Giant was originally developed to be a meat bird, however, a large amount of time is required before they reach their full size. They are a good large brown egg layer and are known for laying well through the winter. They are a docile breed and are very robust and cold hardy making them a great choice for your flock. A rooster can reach 13 pounds while a hen will reach about 10 or 11 pounds.
